Guitar

Who's having this as a hobby: Stig

One hobby is playing guitar and do some in-house singing... Has been 'collecting' guitars for quite a while, now it's only accustic/electric guitars left. Earlier, specially during the studying years between 1990 and 1994 the activity level was quite a bit higher, but recently it is more for home use, and occasionally some party playing and singing with good friends.
Below is a menu over the guitar's currently in my ownership. Click or hold the mouse over the guitar you wish to have a look at...

This is my oldest guitar, bought by me new back in 1976! And still going strong...

Sigma was a subdivision of Martin, and produced outside US.
At the time it was bought, I was still a 'student' and did not have to much money, so this was bought as an affordable option at that time.
The major interest at that time was electric guitars, but the acustic interest had started.
I had a Ibanez at the same time, a Gibson SG copy which at the time was the one most used.

Today this one is most used for slide and slide related playing.
Tuned in flat E or E9 it is a fun tool to experiment with slide.
It is not a dobro, but still a lot of fun in this old guitar.

Will be kept as long as it stays together.

This is currently my second oldest guitar, bought by me in 1986.

This is an Applause, which was and maybe still is a subdivision of Ovation. Produced in Korea, and a relatively cheap entry into the Ovation world...

It does have the special cases and the rounded 'plastic' bottom as the Ovations, and has been a strong and faithful member of my guitars.

Was heavily used during my student years between 1990 and 1994, and been around quite a few places, also internationally

Been performing with this one as far off as Pittsburgh, PA, but most of the usage has been within my home country, Norway.

Seen quite a few parties this one, inside and outside...

Another Ovation bought in Cyprus in 2003, this one is a 12 strings and a different model.

For any reference to this and other similars, look at Ovations website...

This page will be updated with more 'tech specs' later...
